Who is a Lablaban?

A lablaban is someone who talks and talks. Like my grandaughter Roxanne is a lablaban. Since she was little she was a lablaban. Talking and talking and talking. She swallowed a radio. But I love her.

The Simpsons Movie

In the newspaper there was an ad, they were giving free tickets to the movie, the Simpsons movie. I think it might be a very funny, nice movie. It opened here the 27 of July. They are funny the Simpsons, sometimes I watch Homer and his wife and his children, Bart and Lisa and the baby. He has a pet pig and he had to run out of the house, there was a fire and his wife and his children ran out of the house and he went back for his pig. They were showing us a part of the movie. Carlie likes to go to movies, he goes to all the movies.

Roxy and me and Stacy in New York

Stacy was talking to me, he said he's busy, as usual. He's busy of course. He said he took some time off in New York, I told him he's lucky that he has vacation. I asked him about Roxy if she's coming to New York to meet me in New York. He said he'd convince her, but he can't catch her. She had to run. She was with a patient. She's so busy. But if she comes to New York we'll have a nice time the three of us, Roxy and Stacy and me.

The pool party was very fun

The pool party was a lot of fun. Everybody brought his food and I brought the egg patties. And the one that organized it, I think she's Egyptian, she said she loved it, everyone loved it. They had kebbah burrel and there was hot dogs in a red syrup with honey on it, they were eating them and they liked them very much. And the doorman was there, he brought a big piece of cheese.

I asked if anyone had a camera and a very nice lady from the building said, "yes, yes I'll take a picture of you, please, please stand up here and there, I'll take a picture." So here's a picture of me with everyone. I met many people that I didn't know before that live in the building. Now I see them in the elevator.

For desert there was cakes and cherries and watermelon and those Chinese fruits, the lychees. And salads. They brought many things. And a lot of wine, they brought a lot of wine.

Modern women

When I was young a woman would only sleep with her husband. But modern women try many men before they get married. I think it's up to the woman, if she feels attractive and and she's attracted to the man, she can have as many as she wants. If she wants to, then it's OK. But you have to be careful of diseases and the pill is no good, it's bad for your system. But it's acceptable these days to have many partners. Some people they like to have relationships more than average they keep going and going and it's never enough. But it's not healthy to have children late in life. Carlie should choose one nice girl, but when he's ready. But he shouldn't wait too long, he'll get old and then they won't want him.

Pool party

Tomorrow we have a pool party in the building. Pool party, you know, everyone brings his own dish and we eat by the pool. The fourth and the sixth floor they asked for something salty. And the other floors, something sweet. And they want $5 to pay the workers. I had to give them $5, I had only twenty, but they said they didn't have change, bring the money tomorrow. I made the egg patties for them and I'm going to the pool party I know all their names, the people who live in my building. They're going to participate.

Roxy is working very hard

Roxy is working very hard, believe me. The other day she called me from the train, she was already on the train at 6 in the morning. So she called me and usually I'm awake then, but that night I couldn't fall asleep, I was tossing and turning. So when she called I was asleep, and she said, "oh, go back to sleep." So I put put down the phone and I closed my eyes, but I thought it was Vera that called. When I got up I called Vera, and I said, "why did you wake me up?" but she was still sleeping so I woke her up. Then I called Terry and she was sleeping too. So it was three of us that woke up from Roxy's call.

Flamenco music

I want to download some songs of flamenco, Estrella Moriente. Or movienti, I think. And there is another one, Jose Merce. Or Mercel, I can't remember. You know after we finish the class there is this girl, I think she's Lebanese, she wanted to know the name of the song. She put it on her computer right away and she wrote it down for me and I'm going to download it. It's very hard this flamenco it takes a lot of energy, it's not like soft.

Josh played in Germany with his band.

It's so nice to speak to Josh. He's delicious. I'm so proud of him. He played in a band and they went to Germany and played in front seven thousand people. All of a sudden he's such a big boy. He's a man! He's not a boy anymore. Look at him, he travels by himself. I'm proud of all my grandchildren. I am blessed. Look at them. Look at everyone.

The days are starting to get shorter

The days are getting shorter I can already feel it. I hate it. I tell terry and she says what's the difference? She doesn't care about how long the day is. I like the sun and the heat in the summer. When the days get shorter I hate it. It's depressing. My friend Mavis hates it too, and so does Carlie. He hates it, even at his age.

Canada Day

I was with Haim at the club for Canada Day. Haim invited me, he told me to come to his and he would drive me from there. Then when I came to his house and he said come in and we ate something and he gossiped. Then he drove me to the club. I brought Haim some sandwiches with egg patties and pickled mango. And I brought him some bingo cherries. He said they were very good. It was so nice the weather was good. I played some bridge, there was a group there and we sat in the sun. Then we were tired of playing and I went downstairs and there was a group sitting there and talking. Fuad S. was there and he told me to sit there with them and Naim S. was there. They are brothers. They were telling jokes, very silly jokes. Fuad said please sit down and have something, I said "no, no, no." He said please have something, so I said OK, I'll have tea. And they ordered tea and cookies oatmeal. So I sat and ate with them and then I said thank you. Wasn't that nice of him?

Going to the club

Here in Montreal it turned colder today. Haim told me "do you want to come to the club?" because it's Canada Day, but I said no, it's too cold. But maybe I'll go tomorrow if the weather gets nicer. I don't like to go when it's cold and there's only playing cards upstairs. Tomorrow maybe I'll go and I'll miss the Y.
