Who is a Lablaban?
A lablaban is someone who talks and talks. Like my grandaughter Roxanne is a lablaban. Since she was little she was a lablaban. Talking and talking and talking. She swallowed a radio. But I love her.

Roxy's concert
The evening after the engagement party, the same night Roxy had a concert. The same day. Sunday was the party and at night we went to the concert. For her first time on stage I was amazed how she sang by herself and holding the microphone and she danced with it, moving the microphone back and forth. And I started the clapping at the beginning and everybody clapped with the song. What did she sing? She sang something. Vera remembers. What were the songs? And that little girl she sang Argentina. She was so cute. But about Roxy she sang "I'm Special" where she says she's going to use her arms and her legs and her fingers and her imagination. And how many musicians were behind her? There were so many, maybe twenty behind her. These people they are learning. It was all their first time.
Happy birthday to Stacy
It was Stacy's birthday on May 28, it was the day after the engagement. So he came to Montreal with Carlie and me, we took the train and we kept thinking of the ke-baaahb and laughing. Stacy went first class and he brought us cognac and wine from the first class. With his meal he ordered red wine and he drank it. And he gave me his supper to eat. It was halibut and asparagus and tomato. And I don't know, celery or something that like that. And rice and a bun. The halibut was very nice. He said he wasn't hungry. Then when he got to Montreal he invited his friends and they ate dinner together.
Lisa's engagement party at the Sutton Hotel
I was in Toronto for Lisa's engagement and I stayed at the same hotel, at the Sutton Hotel. Lisa looked beautiful and Roxy, we took pictures in the lobby. The hall was beautiful on the tenth floor, you could see the whole city, surrounded with windows, all windows. There was cocktail at the beginning and pianist in the first room. After we were chatting and seeing people we didn't see for a long time in Toronto we moved to the next room. We had buffet, very very good food, the food was delicious. I took salad and fish, lots of salad, couscous and green salad. There was pasta also and cheeses and lox, salmon and lox. And cheeses and poached eggs. And then there was bagels and danish and cream cheese. And then there was the desert table and tea and coffee. Chocolate cakes. And they had a surprise, a birthday cake for Stacy! He was surprised, he didn't expect. But I spoke with Lisa about it a few months ago. I knew about it.
Christina Aguilera
I like Christina Aguilera. She is pretty, she dresses up nicely. I saw her on Access Hollywood. I don't know, her or the other one was number one in style. Maybe it was Lindy Lohan. I think it was her.
Carlie showed me a nice show
Carlie showed me something very nice, a TV show about a funny guy from New Zealand, I really enjoyed it. We were laughing at his face and his funny accent. He bought a ke-baaahb, he said it funny like this, he bought it for his girlfriend and she didn't give him anything, he wanted something in return. He took her out, did he kiss her? Weh aliha, she was rude. She didn't give him anything, just a kiss. And his other friend, a boy, his best friend, she also went out with him. And she didn't care for them in the end. He made her macaroni. And she was blonde and pretty, but she was stupid. But they were all stupid. It's not nice to talk bad about people, but they were naive.
You who are reading this, if I see you I will buy you a ke-baaahb.
You who are reading this, if I see you I will buy you a ke-baaahb.

Lindy Lohan
They say in Access Hollywood that Lindy Lohan is the hottest woman in the world. They said she became first. Usually it is Paris Hilton or Britney, but this time they failed to make it. In the gossip column in the Gazette, he calls her Lilo.

Jerry Seinfeld is at Cannes
They are talking now about the festival in Cannes. Like Jerry Seinfeld is going there and he's playing in a bee movie, he dressed up like a bee, and flying around I think. They're talking about it on Access Hollywood. He was there, and people were asking questions, he was in a hotel. And Chris Rock is the co-star in this bee movie. I love to see their pictures, and all these actresses. Like Angelina Jolie. And all their dresses, I like to see them. Sometimes Vera calls when I'm watching, then I turn it off because they go too fast. They show you Jerry Seinfeld and the they show you Oprah, then something else. But it's nice to watch, it's different a little bit. How many shows do I have? I have Oprah, and Dancing with the Stars, and the news, mostly the news.

Lisa's engagement
Lisa called me yesterday, she's so excited, she has so many things to carry for her engagement party. She has her dress it's very heavy and she has two boxes of her invitations. She designed them herself. Everyday after school she would come home and sit on the computer and design the invitations. She says she has so many things on her mind. She's very excited. And Vera told me about the menu for the brunch.

I called Josh in Mexico
I called Josh in Mexico, he said "coma esta?" I said "bueno." He started laughing. He's really cool. So nice, good-looking, nice, he looks sharp with his hair and everything. Ezy sent me a picture. One thing he was wearing a shirt with some kind of design, maybe from his group? That was the one thing, I didn't understand it. Honestly, he's a great boy. He's the smartest between the whole family.
Oprah had a contest about the movies
On Oprah there was a contest about movies, choosing somebody. They chose this girl she was serving cones of ice cream and they told her you are the one, they chose her and she was so happy jumping around. They were surprised, all this talking. Blah blah blah.
Belly dancing
I went to the Y to do belly dancing. This is the only class I could choose. The classes before they had more choice, but now they don't have nice choice. Body blast and Fusion. But the teachers are not the same. Belly dancing was nice though, I like this one.
The bees
I heard that the bees are disappearing, why? There was an article in the Gazette that they are disappearing. The bees are very important, and they don't know why. A lot of things are disappearing, animals, and they don't know why. And the global warming.
Jerry Garcia's guitar
They were selling Jerry Garcia's memorabilia. They sold one of his guitars for 12,000. One guitar. Imagine. It went in the auction. I don't if it's worth it. maybe they think it's going to be worth more later. I was surprised, I was thinking what kind of a guitar is this?
American streamline exhibiton
I went to the museum to an exhibition, American streamline design from the '30s until now. I saw a radio that I used to have, but black and smaller. Sarlie has it now upstairs in the big room. They had them and a vacuum cleaner Electrolux a very old one, but like new. And an electric iron, planes, I don't know. Things for recreation. They had a lecture and they show you one by one. It was very cool.

Mother's day at the club.
I went with Terry to the club for mother's day, and Haim was there too. It's not like before. The boat people are much more than the Iraqis, the ones that have the sailing boat. The food was good, there was cheeses, and salmon, salad, eggs, all this stuff, they would make you omelette if you want it. The salmon was good, it was baked, small pieces, vegetables and tea and coffee and cake.
We were sitting eating, we were on the table and Stacy called. He spoke to me, he said happy mother's day and he spoke to Terry. And vera also called, she was having picnic with Roxy and John in Toronto.
Then on the way home Terry drove on the local side, on the lake, she doesn't like the highway. It's a nice drive but much longer. On the way back, I was full, she was full, and we were driving slowly slowly, and it was hot in the car. i was worried she was going to fall asleep. I said, "Terry, don't sleep."

Oprah had pallabolis
Oprah showed us yesterday this guy, he has a show, it’s not acrobatic it’s called something I can’t remember, I think it's called pallabolis. If anyone knows the name please tell me. The show is so different. He has dancers very nice dancers and they get together and they make a shape. They make a tree. They’re very cute, very small. And they made Oprah. O-P-R-A-H. She was amazed. What a performance! They set themselves as a dog, with a tail that’s waggling. And the tree was the most beautiful. And it reminded me exactly of the pyramid we used to do at Rosh Hashanna. You tell them a shape and the run on top of each other, these body dancers.
Are you going to vote for the petition for Paris Hilton?
Paris Hilton, the poor thing, they’re putting her in jail. Everyday she’s in the news, more and more, Paris Hilton. They interviewed her mother, they said, “aren’t you embarrassed?” I saw it in the news, on Access Hollywood. I watch Access Hollywood everyday. I want to see those big people and their dresses and their kids and what they do. Bratt and Angelina Jolie.
The nude people in Mexico
There is that guy that’s taking pictures of nude people in Mexico,
thousands and thousands of people. Every year he takes a picture,
you should see these people lying on the ground and naked thouhsands and thousands. He did it once in Montreal, but this time he did it in Mexico. It was in the paper. Who would do such thing? I like to see the picture. Why not? I wouldn’t volunteer but I would like to see such a picture.

Riana is a very nice girl
I see Riana from time to time, she is nice, I think she is a very nice girl. She grew up very nice children. She's a good mother I noticed that. Not like she wants to fool around or be free, she treats them very nice. She comes to the Y for jazz dance. She always asks about Carlie, about Stacy, about Terry, and Harvey. She says, "how is Carlie, how is Stacy." She is a good friend of Kathy.
More flamingo dancing
They added this class at the Y, the flamingo dancing and I went today. But you have to be strong, to imagine that you're fighting with the bull. This is how they dance. You go this way and that way, and you open your legs and you do this, do that. But it's good exercise, you need to warm up before, it's very good. But it's difficult. He shows us the moves and we do it again and again. And you know he claps with his hand, chucka chucka chucka. He is Mexican, the instructor. Maybe I go once a week, once every two weeks. Why not? If I have time I go.
Trip to Ottawa
They're organizing a trip to Ottawa, the sisterhood at the Spanish. It's $35 and they take you to Ottawa and they show you the tulips, then they take you to the museum of science or something, then they give you a big lunch at the Rideau Hall, the place where the Governor General stays or something, it must be a nice place. Then they take you to the casino and they give you ten dollars to play. I might go, if there is a nice crowd and I know the people going.
Haim invites me to the club
Haim invited me and Terry to the club for brunch. I used to go all the time. But now I go only when Haim invites me. I can be a member, but going and coming is difficult, I live far. But I go to Haim, I drive to Haim and I leave my car there, then he drives me to the club, and then when we come back to his house, I have my car there and I drive back to my house.
I got a card from Ezy
I got a card from Ezy for Mother’s Day, and he sent me pictures of Josh at his birthday blowing the candles, and another from Justin blowing the candles on his birthday, and another one of the cat on the blankets.
Carlie knows all the movies
Carlie knows all the movies, and I don't know anybody in the family that knows all the movies like him. No one else cares about movies.

French literature
When I was in Baghdad, the school was Alliance Israelite. In this school I learned some french, some english, a little bit, but mostly in arabic. My grandfather taught me a little bit hebrew, like for passover, haggadah, what we read, things like that. So then when I moved to Iran, I wasn't married, so I went to the American school, it was in english, and I liked the french language, so I went to the convent to learn, it was the only place. There were only two Jewish students. We learned french there. But they didn't mind that we didn't say their prayers, they respected that. But most of my french I learned from there, a little bit of science, geography, algebra, and literature, we read Maurice Dumas. There was a very nice lady, a nun, so beautiful, not blonde but so beautiful. Her name was Marie-Joseph. We used to say what a shame she became a nun, praying and praying. She taught us literature. I went one year and the next year I got married. I was sad, I wanted to stay. And the next year Terry came.
Meg
I went to the Y for aqua fitness yesterday, but Meg wasn't there. I go because I like her, she's Irish, and very, very beautiful, in her thirties, so beautiful. But she wasn't there. I asked, and they told me that she went to take a job as a stewardess. I believe it she was is beautiful and nice, and well spoken. But I went to see her and she's not there anymore.
Tim Horton and Starbuck
I went for a walk, I went downtown, looking in the stores here and there, so I went to Tim Horton. I took a tea and cookie, chocolate and peanut butter, it was delicious. It was my first time, I never go to these places. I just wanted to walk and look in the stores, walking and walking and walking. I wanted to see how is business. And there was Starbuck across the street and I went there too to see how is business. There were ten people. But at Tim Horton there was many people, with a line outside the store.
Box with nuts and dates
Today I dressed up in the morning, I fixed my hair, then I dropped something at Terry's, a small box for candies. Terry wanted to fill it up with cashew nuts and dates, she's going to a friend of hers, another real estate agent over for dinner. I said take one of these nice plastic boxes, transparent, plain, put some nice cashew nuts and give it. She said, "but I don't have one, do you have it?" Yes, I had one, so I gave it to her, then I went to the Spanish for shabbat.

Paris Hilton is going to jail
Paris Hilton went to jail, she was drunk driving. Abuel aleihem. Her and Britney Spears. It's the money that spoils them. They pay them too much. In hollywood, with the photographers and the reporters. This is America. Typical America. You don't see this in Europe. Look at Britney. She shaved her hair, she was in rehab, and with her children in the car and drinking and driving. Then she shaved her hair, she became crazy. They're out of their mind. Between the reporters and the photographers and the money, they lose their mind. Paris Hilton when she started she was good. Now she's a slut. They don't know anymore, their life is different. She probably won't go for long. Why? Because she's wealthy. I don't know what to say. I watch sometimes Access Hollywood, but sometimes it's too noisy, blah blah blah blah blah. So I turn it off.
