Who is a Lablaban?

A lablaban is someone who talks and talks. Like my grandaughter Roxanne is a lablaban. Since she was little she was a lablaban. Talking and talking and talking. She swallowed a radio. But I love her.

A song in the sukkah

The Iraqi people they sing a song in the sukkah, it goes "sukkah weh lulav..." like that. We used to hear it in Baghdad. Before the Sukkoth, they would sell the palms and the rest of the things on the street. They used to sell them like Christmas trees.

This new rabbi at the Spanish, he's from New York, it's the first year for him. When they were singing this song, he was looking around and laughing, he didn't know where they were reading from. He asked Abitan and Yacoob and Anwar, they brought small books between them that are special for the sukka, i don't know. After every verse they sing, "sukkah weh lulav."

I asked the rabbi, "how do you like it here?" He said "it's different but I love it."

In Baghdad they had the decorations and the drapes in the sukkah that were are all white and embroidered. Because it's summertime there and everything is white.

I'm going to ask Yacoob for one of the books, because I don't know the whole song.
